Ladyfest London 2008 - some of the organisers at the Underworld, Camden
The first ever Ladyfest was conducted in Olympia, Washington in August 2000 with over 2000 people attending. Prime motivators in the event were Sarah Dougher, Sleater-Kinney, Cat Power, Neko Case, and Teresa Carmody.
Since the first Ladyfest, the event has branched out into other urban centres.
Ladyfest London took place from 9th- 11th May 2008.
The money raised will be given to women's charities including the Feminist Library and Southall Black Sisters.
